What happens after you sign up
- You get a dedicated address,
yourname@email2phone.net. - You add that address wherever your monitoring tool sends email, the same place you would add a colleague. There is no agent to install and no app on the phone.
- You send a test alert. Your phone rings and announces one message. Press 1 to hear the subject and body, then 8 to save it, 7 to delete it, or 5 to record a spoken reply that goes back to the sender as an email.
Point it at whatever already sends email
Anything that can send an email can ring your phone. Three setups IT admins do most often:

Microsoft 365. A mail flow rule that copies anything from your monitoring system's address, or anything with CRITICAL in the subject, to your Email2Phone address. The rule runs server-side, so it works when your laptop is closed. Microsoft 365 setup.
Temperature and freezer sensors. Sensaphone, Monnit, Temp Stick and SensorPush all take an email recipient per alarm rule. Add the address, and a freezer drifting out of range at 1 a.m. becomes a phone call instead of an email read at 8. Temperature sensor setup.

80 alert emails at 3 a.m. is one phone call
Email2Phone is a mailbox, not a dialer. When a burst of alerts lands, you get one call that tells you how many messages are waiting, and you clear them from the keypad in a single pickup. A tool that dials once per message would ring your phone 80 times.
With voicemail switched off on that phone, a message is not counted as delivered until someone presses a key: if nobody does, Email2Phone calls back at 5, 15, 30, 60 and 60 minutes, and files the message in your online message history. If voicemail picks up instead, the message is left there and counts as delivered, and no callbacks follow.
Two people on call? Add both numbers and have them ring at once or one after the other. A filter with a single condition — subject contains DOWN, for example — keeps the warnings out and lets only the alerts worth a call through. Both work during the trial, so you can prove the setup before you pay for it.
What Email2Phone does not do
No SMS or MMS. Voice calls only.
No API or webhook. Email in, call out. If your tool can send an email, it can ring your phone.
No mobile app. The phone that rings can be a mobile or a landline, in any country.
No on-call rotations, incident timelines or response-time analytics. If you need those, you know on day one rather than on day three of a trial.
