One fact per page, the answer in the first sentence, and nothing to sell. If a question is not here, the contact page reaches a person.

Getting started

  • How do I get started with Email2Phone?

Create an account, add the phone number that should ring, and send email to the address you are given; the phone rings, you press 1, and a voice reads the message.

  • What does the free trial include?

Thirty days, up to three emails a day delivered as calls, free dial-in, a second phone number and filters, and no credit card.

  • Can Email2Phone read my existing mailbox?

Yes, when you dial in: connect an AOL, Yahoo, Gmail or Microsoft 365 mailbox under Configuration and Email2Phone fetches its mail live while you are on the line. A connected mailbox never triggers a call.

  • Can you call an email address?

No. An email address has no phone number behind it, so there is nothing to dial; what you can do is make an email call you.

The call

Who gets called, and when

  • How do filters decide which phone rings?

A filter is one condition on From, To, CC, Subject or Body and one action, ignore or call these phones; anything no filter catches rings your default number.

  • Can Email2Phone ring more than one phone?

Yes: add several numbers and choose, per account, to dial them one after another or all at once, and to stop at the first acknowledgement or carry on until everyone has been called.

  • Can I stop calls to a phone at night?

Yes: a schedule sets the days and times one phone number is not called; a message that arrives during its window is not delivered to that phone later, and if no other number takes it, it is readable online only.

  • How do I stop calls during planned maintenance?

Switch on Suspended Delivery in your account; it stops every call until you switch it off, and mail that arrives while it is on is dropped, not delivered afterwards.

  • How does Email2Phone handle spam?

Two layers: the account's Spam Protection setting files what its spam check rejects in a SPAM folder in Message History, and your own filters can ignore any sender or subject you know to be noise.

Billing and coverage

  • How does Email2Phone billing work?

Your card is charged at the start of each month for your plan, $10, $100 or $400 for 40, 500 or 3,000 credits; the first month is prorated, and extra credits are billed at month end at your plan's rate.

  • Which countries does Email2Phone call?

All of them: Email2Phone calls mobile, landline and VoIP numbers in any country, at 1 credit a minute to the US and Canada and 1 to 6 credits elsewhere; dial-in numbers are in the US, Canada and the UK.

What it does not do

  • What does Email2Phone not do?

No text messages, no API or webhook, no mobile app, no on-call rotations or incident analytics, and no per-message throttle setting; email in, phone call out.

  • Can I send an email to a phone number?

Not from Email2Phone, which delivers email as a phone call rather than a text; the carrier addresses that used to turn email into a text are closing, and their status is on the email to SMS page.
